Sami Joensuu
As a film director, Sami has worked for years in the space where a feature film type look meets a clever and fresh visual aesthetic. His music video work has been nominated for Finnish Grammys 5 times and has been part of the official selection at international film festivals. His commercial work has been awarded across Scandinavia including “recruitment film of the year” in Sweden more recently.
He has worked with several clients and agencies worldwide, including: Volvo, Volkswagen, Continental Tires, Nokia, OnePlus, Finnair, IKEA, Oracle, Subway, Forsman & Bodenfors, Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB, Isobar, Grey and McCann.
On the music side, he has worked with most of the major labels, ranging from Sony Music to Universal and Warner.
He is sought after for his capability to bring a visually fresh approach to projects and for his expertise in working with artists, actors and athletes that are well known. Fluent in English, Finnish, Spanish and Swedish - Sami is no stranger to working globally and has an excellent "on the road" playlist for every long production ride to set.

"I’ve had the good fortune of spending hours upon hours directing, working with, photographing and touring with artists/athletes ranging from Katy Perry and Grammy Award winner Erykah Badu to Jerry Only from The Misfits and from EDM superstars The Chainsmokers to Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, to name a few.
I only mention that because I know what working with artists/athletes at home, or especially in the middle of a tour or training season, requires. Things move fast and sometimes pressures are high. It’s all part of the process.
On the other hand, my experience in advertising, both as a film and creative director, have taught me that an actor or character on film shouldn’t trample the heart of the brand, but the two should complement each other in a way that feels natural and ends up making both stronger.
Working at that intersection where those two worlds intersect is a place I feel very much at home at."
